Before you dive in

This article contains everything we shipped*, month by month. New features usually arrive in the Showell App for Web first. The Windows, Mac, iOS and Android apps follow soon after.

* From January 2026 onwards. Check our FAQ for older releases.

Every feature below carries one or more labels:

• All apps: available everywhere
• Web now, Apps soon: currently available in the Showell App for Web, coming soon to the Windows, Mac, iOS and Android apps
• Web only: available only in the Showell App for Web, such as Admin or LMS features.
• Add-in, integration or a single app: updates that apply in only one place carry that name instead, for example PowerPoint, Digital Sales Room or iOS.
• Everyone: The feature is available for both Users and Admins.
• Admin: the feature is only available for Administrators, or users with added permissions (may vary based on permission set).

Layout Builder Improvements _{(Admin, Web only)}

• 32 New Component Variants have been added across 8 layout blocks.
• Additionally, this Layout Builder update focusses on automating your design workflow and simplifying navigation. The FileGrid now automatically populates, while 'breadcrumbs' keep you informed where you are actively working. For additional support, we have added a Feature-Introduction video and guide. More optimizations include improved templates, link paths, thumbnails, and theme rendering.

Showell AI Assistant _{(Everyone, All apps)}

• A modern AI chat built into Showell. Ask questions in natural language, keep the context across follow-ups, and revisit past conversations from your chat history. It extends the previous AI Search into a full chat.

Collect more Share visitor data _{(Everyone, All apps)}

• You can now collect a visitor's name and mobile number alongside their email when they open a Share. Turn on "Ask for name" and "Ask for mobile" per share, or set defaults in General preferences. The new details also appear in, and can be exported from, Share Analytics.

Showell add-in for PowerPoint _{(Everyone, PowerPoint)}

• The Showell add-in for PowerPoint lets you browse the PowerPoint files in your Showell workspace from inside Microsoft PowerPoint, and insert selected slides or the full deck into the presentation you are editing.

Link Shares to Accounts in Dynamics _{(Everyone, Dynamics)}

• A Showell Share can now be linked to one or more Accounts in Dynamics, and the parent Account of a Contact, Lead, Opportunity or Activity is linked automatically. You can also set which Showell workspace Dynamics uses when it differs from your home workspace.

Content health _{(Admin, Web only)}

• Every folder now has a Content health tab in Edit mode. Open Home for a workspace-wide view or any folder for a closer look, and instantly spot files without recent engagement, files about to expire, files without an owner or language, and everything added or updated recently.

Search Assistant block in Layout Builder _{(Admin, Web only)}

• Layout Builder has a new Search Assistant block you can add to your templates, putting search and an AI entry point right on the page.

May 2026 _{(Versions 19.0 and 20.0)}

Share Analytics: hide or show internal usage _{(Everyone, All apps)}

• A new "Show internal usage" toggle in each share's analytics view. Turn it off and activity from the share's owner and collaborators is excluded, so the data reflects only external recipient engagement.

Share individual pages _{(Everyone, All apps)}

• You can now add selected document pages to a Share instead of sharing the full file. Pick the pages you need, and Showell adds them to the Share as a presentation.

Custom Share links _{(Everyone, All apps)}

• Clearer, more recognizable Share links. Admins enable Custom links in General preferences, and Showell either generates a readable link for you or lets you customize it manually.

Folder expiry dates _{(Admin, Web only)}

• Expiration dates can now be set on folders, not just on individual files. Set one and the folder moves to the trash automatically on that date.

Support for custom roles _{(Admin, Web only)}

• Showell now supports custom roles. When custom roles are set up for your workspace, they appear in the role dropdown when you invite or manage users, and share-related actions can be hidden based on role permissions. The in-app interface for creating and editing custom roles is coming in a future release.

Link format setting: universal links _{(Admin, Web only)}

• Showell now supports a universal link format for file URLs. Enable it for your workspace and copied file links can open the Showell App directly on supported devices, which gives your recipients a smoother experience on mobile and desktop alike.

• The Windows, iOS and Android apps now display your Layout Builder layouts, so your branding looks the same wherever your team works. All layout editing stays in the Showell App for Web.

Upgrade your Digital Sales Room browser tab _{(Admin, Web only)}

• From your branding settings you can now set a favicon and page title for your Digital Sales Room browser tab. This builds trust with your customers and makes your brand easier to spot when they move between tabs.

• Navigation on mobile devices is smoother and more intuitive, with key access points placed within easy thumb reach.

Access Presentations anywhere _{(Everyone, All apps)}

• Presentations you create in Showell are no longer limited to being personal. Admins can place them anywhere in the workspace so everyone can reach them, and both admins and users can share them with specific colleagues by assigning access privileges.

Layout Builder _{(Admin, Web only)}

• Layout Builder replaces the Template and Theme Editor: more powerful, more flexible, and built to give you greater control over how your workspace looks. You keep all the familiar branding and styling options, plus a wide range of new customization features. Tailor the look and feel of your workspace home page and folders, and keep your brand experience consistent while staying flexible.

Custom subdomains _{(Admin, Web only)}

• You can now configure your Showell workspace to use a custom subdomain under showell.com, for example companyname.showell.com.
