Getting Started

We already have Cloud or DAM options available for you:

• Google Drive
• Microsoft 365 (SharePoint, OneDrive, and TeamsDrive)
• Dropbox
• Aprimo
• Asset Bank
• Bynder
• Brandmaker
• Crasman Studio
• Gredi
• Mascus

However, if you're using a different DAM or Cloud service, don't worry! Let's work together to set up the integration. Keep reading to find out how.

What you have to do:

1. To initiate the integration process, reach out to your designated Showell Contact person or contact Showell Support. This will enable clear communication for establishing the necessary agreements, and allows us to assist you throughout every step of the integration.

• While some Cloud or DAM integrations are plug-and-play, there are additional options such as synchronizing keywords, languages, or applying custom filters.
• Some DAM platforms (for example, Bynder) use metadata properties instead of traditional folder structures. In these cases, it’s important to decide how you want to map these properties to Showell’s folder structure.
• User Group privileges can also be defined based on how your content synchronization is configured.
• If you’re using a Cloud or DAM service, you should determine your preferred content management workflow. Whether to;
  • manage all content on the integration side (fully automated),
  • upload on the integration side, and then organize within Showell, or
  • apply a hybrid approach that combines both.

2. Setup users in your DAM/Showell

• It is recommended to create a separate user in your DAM and in Showell for the integration, as these will act as a bridge to connect your DAM with Showell. While a personal User Account can be used on both ends, having unique users specifically for the integration makes it easier to disable the integration by simply removing the integration user. This also helps prevent any accidental movement of personal files to Showell.
• These users will then be used for managing the Showell integration.
• DAM side: Add read privileges to the this newly created user. This ensures that this user isn't able to modify the content and will only act as a bridge between your DAM and Showell.
• Showell side: Assign this user the Admin role to enable them to set up and manage the integration effectively.

What we do:

Once we have received your request to add your DAM or Cloud integration, our team will take the necessary steps to create a connector between Showell and your DAM.

After the connector is successfully set up, you will be able to authorize the connection between Showell and your DAM using your credentials. This will allow you to start syncing your content with Showell seamlessly.

Authorize and manage your integration

While there are slight differences between integrations, the setup process generally works the same way as in our examples below:

Simply follow similar steps using your integration of choice.

We recommend setting up your integration via the Showell App for Web, as it provides the most up-to-date experience.

However, the articles above also explain how to configure integrations using our legacy Showell Admin platform.

➡️ Depending on your implementation, you may still need to use the legacy platform for the authorization step, while creating and managing linkages can be done directly in the Showell App for Web.
