Create links, in a document, to Showell content
When creating documents or presentations, you might want to include videos, 3D files, or other interactive content. Instead of embedding these directly (which may only work in specific software), you can upload them to Showell and link to them from your document. When opened in Showell, these links will open the files directly.
Important to consider:
Links can be difficult to maintain. If a linked file is moved, renamed, or deleted, the link in your document will break. For this reason, we recommend using this approach only when necessary.
Recommended approach:
Instead, upload your content separately and combine it using the Presentation Creator. This provides a more reliable and flexible way to present mixed content.
Using Microsoft integrations
With SharePoint or OneDrive integrations, Office files can be opened directly in Showell using the Office File Viewer, preserving interactivity. (This applies to office files)
With providing the following video as an example, we will guide you on how to embed a link within a documents toward a file stored in Showell:
- Upload contents, such as 3D files or video
- Open the content's setting and copy its link address. You can find the link address under the 'Filename & Link' Section
- Navigate to the document you are working with, and add the copied link address to a text or image > Save the document
- Upload the document to Showell
Result: As you open the document, you are now able to click the link text or image and the item will open within Showell. Using the 'back'-button, you can quickly go back to the document you are viewing
