SSO with Showell

SSO, also known as Single Sign-On, is a convenient authentication service that allows users to access multiple applications with just one set of login credentials. With SSO, you can say goodbye to the hassle of remembering and managing multiple usernames and passwords. Once you log in to one application, you are automatically logged in to others without the need to re-enter your credentials. By eliminating the need for repetitive logins, you save time and effort, especially when you frequently switch between different applications throughout your workday.

How do I enable SSO with my Showell Workspace?

an SSO-connection is provided as a Showell Add-on. If you'd like to know more:

Can we use SSO and Showell's MFA together?

No, and you do not need to. A Showell User Account is protected one way or the other:

  • Single Sign-On: your identity provider handles the sign-in. Whatever you enforce there, such as MFA or conditional access, applies before anyone reaches Showell. Showell's own MFA is not available on these accounts.
  • Showell email and password: the account is protected with Showell's multi-factor authentication. Every user can switch it on, and an Admin can require it for the whole Workspace under Admin > General preferences.

Want SSO and MFA together? Enforce MFA in your identity provider. Your users get SSO with your own MFA policy, which is the same protection managed in one place.

If your Workspace has both kinds of accounts, each one follows its own method.
